EHI collaborated with the City of Rocky Mount, North Carolina on two projects: the Monk to Mill Greenway and the Peachtree Street and Falls Road Complete Streets assessment study.

The objective of these initiatives is to establish an interconnected network of trails, green spaces, and complete streets that seamlessly integrate into people’s daily lives, serving as transportation routes and recreational areas. The study detailed recommended trail alignment, design concepts, and alternatives for retrofitting complete streets.

The planning guidelines and strategies developed for the Monk to Mill Greenway and Peachtree Street and Falls Road aim to encourage public and private investment for gradual redevelopment within the area encompassing Monk Park, the Imperial Center in downtown Rocky Mount, and the former Rocky Mount Mill site. Additionally, the focus is on enhancing the pedestrian-friendliness, safety, and accessibility of the Peachtree Street and Falls Road area. The overall process is intended to complete the greenway within the study area and incorporate sustainable practices that promote walking, cycling, and other multi-modal transportation options.
