Home / Portfolio / I-65 Corridor Improvement Study
The I-65 Corridor Improvement Study is a project dedicated to improving traffic flow, safety, and accessibility along the critical section of the I-65 corridor in downtown Louisville, specifically between I-264 and East Jefferson Street.
With a strong emphasis on reducing congestion, enhancing operational efficiency, and catering to the needs of bicyclists and pedestrians, this study aimed to create a more seamless and inclusive transportation experience for all.
EHI Consultants developed improvement options, including modifying access points, reconfiguring interchanges, and extending accel/decel lanes. The study also explored opportunities to enhance bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure.
Key tasks include collecting existing data, conducting public outreach, providing cost estimates, and developing improvement concepts, including Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) solutions.
